The God Kind of Love - Part One
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1 John 4:7-9
In John Chapter 1, the Bible makes us know that we are born of God. “To them be believed on His name, He made them be called the sons of God; “But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
1 Peter 1:23
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
The above scriptures clearly reveal to us that the Christian is born of God. We have the DNA of God in us. Our origin is in God. We belong in Him. The Christian has the very nature of God.
If that is the case, then the nature of the Christian is love. We are born of love so long as we are born of God. If you do not love it means you are not of God.
You could speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but without love you are just a musical instrument. (1 Corinthians 13). You could be a demon chaser, miracle worker and a great prophet and seer. If you lack love you are nothing.
True maturity in God is when you can love your enemies.
Romans 12 tells us to pray for our enemies and not to curse them. That’s a very difficult thing to do if you live in the flesh. But by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit, we can demonstrate/express the love of God at all times, no matter who is involved. (Romans 5:5; the Love of God is shared abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit).
The God Kind of Love is not possible with the man in the flesh. God is spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4). This kind of love flows from the spirit. This is why it is necessary to be filled with the Holy Spirit at all times because only He can fill our hearts with ‘The God kind of Love‘.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, there’s no one you cannot love. Love becomes your true nature.
